1. What we collect
When you request early access, we collect the details you enter in the form: your name, email address and the type of builder you are, plus — if you choose to share them — your phone number, company, and any notes you add.
We also collect basic technical information automatically when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you view. This is aggregate usage data, not a profile of you.
Once you're using Foresite, the platform also holds the project data you put into it — schedules, claims, invoices, costs, and client records. That data belongs to your business, not to us. We process it to run the service for you and for no other purpose.
2. Information about other people
Foresite is used by building businesses, and the project data they enter often includes personal information about people other than the account holder: subcontractors and their staff (names, phone numbers, ABNs, licence and insurance details), clients and homeowners (names, contact details, site addresses), and suppliers.
If you upload information about someone else, you're confirming you have the right to share it with us so we can run the service for you. We handle it the same way we handle yours — to operate Foresite for the business that entered it, and for nothing else.
If you're a subcontractor, client or team member whose details sit in a customer's account, you can contact us at any time to ask what's held about you, have it corrected, or raise a concern — see Your rights. Where the information was entered by a builder, we may work with them to resolve your request.
Foresite will later offer optional site cameras. Site imagery can include identifiable people, so before that feature launches we'll update this policy with exactly how footage is captured, stored, retained and who controls it.
3. Why we collect it
We use the information you give us to:
- contact you about early access, onboarding, and the beta programme;
- understand what builders need so we build the right product;
- provide, maintain, and secure the platform once you're using it;
- meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your information, and we don't send marketing on behalf of anyone else. If we ever want to use your details for something outside this list, we'll ask you first.
5. AI and automated decisions
Foresite uses AI to automate routine construction admin — drafting schedules, preparing progress claims, matching invoices to purchase orders, and flagging cost variances. Where we use third-party AI providers, we contract on enterprise terms: your data is not used to train their public models.
Some routine decisions are automated, within limits each account owner sets. For example, an invoice may be automatically matched and approved for payment when it agrees with its purchase order inside a tolerance the builder has configured, or a purchase order may be prepared for a scheduled trade. These decisions can use personal information such as a supplier's contact details, ABN and insurance status, and the records on an invoice.
- Limits — automation only acts inside dollar and confidence ceilings set by the account owner; anything outside them is held for a person.
- Review — every automated action is logged, auditable, and reversible by the account owner.
- Your say — if an automated action affects you (for example, a hold on your invoice), you can ask us or the builder for a person to review it.
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects for individuals without human review.
6. Storage and security
Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure hosted in Australia. We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and keep access limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and will notify you and the OAIC if an eligible data breach occurs.
Some of our service providers operate overseas. Where information is disclosed outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. How long we keep it
We keep early-access enquiries for up to 24 months from our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Platform data is retained for the life of your account and deleted or de-identified within 90 days of closure, except where we're required to keep it (for example, financial records).
9. Your rights and complaints
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong or out of date;
- delete your details and remove you from our list;
- explain how a particular piece of information is being used — including in an automated decision.
If something's gone wrong, tell us first: email our privacy officer and we'll acknowledge your complaint promptly and respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
10. Changes to this policy
Foresite is early and evolving, so this policy will change as the product does. We'll update the date at the top of this page, and if a change materially affects how we handle your information, we'll email you before it takes effect.
